BARK, A Rescue Pub Set to Open Summer 2020

The World’s First Dog and Cat Adoption Restaurant Opening in Spokane

[Spokane, WA , June 15, 2020] Josh Wade, owner of Nectar Wine and Beer, Nectar Catering and Events and Nectar Media announces today that Bark, A Rescue Pub, will be opening its doors Summer of 2020 at 905 N. Washington St. in the old Broadview Dairy building.

Bark is the world’s first restaurant where guests can interact with dogs and cats either before or after dining or drinks. Visitors will enjoy elevated pub food knowing their dining experience is providing help to a local animal shelter.

Bark’s mission is to be an extension of the adoption process at the Spokane Humane Society. Wade specifically sought out partnership with the Spokane Humane Society because of their loyal commitment to care for and love every animal.

“Josh has a way of identifying unique opportunities for our community and we couldn’t be more excited and humbled to partner with he and his fiancé”, says Terena Thi, Director of Development and Communications at the Spokane Humane Society. “Bark will provide our furry friends with more opportunities to find that forever home and offers another platform to continue our mission.”

The shelter dogs and cats will have their own team of caretakers separate from restaurant staff. They will live in their own area separate but accessible from the restaurant. This will give guests an interactive experience to meet, fall in love with and maybe adopt a new pet.

From the large outdoor seating area, guests can take in the beauty of Spokane. The area boasts full unobstructed views of Riverfront Park Pavilion as well as gives access to the future North shore expansion of the Park and the future Regional Sports Complex.

“We are excited to bring a new and unique restaurant experience to Spokane,” says owner Josh Wade. “My fiancé and I are dog and cat lovers. We have adopted several shelter animals over the years and love being their forever home. Bark provides animal lovers like us a fun interactive dining experience while knowing that we are supporting the Spokane Humane Society with each visit.”
