Frequently Asked Questions

What is a rescue pub? You have beer and basset hounds? Can that even be a thing? What can we expect?

Do the animals live on site?

Yes, the animals live on site Friday - Sunday! Anywhere from 4 to 8 dogs and 4 to 8 cats live on-site in our separate but accessible shelter area. The animals have their own team of caretakers to make sure their short stay with us is enjoyable before they find their forever home. When the animals are not at BARK they are receiving the care they need along with animal enrichment activities at the Spokane Humane Society. The can be visited and adopted there as well.

Is there a fee for the adoption center?

Yes, there is a $5 fee to enter the adoption center. Reservations are required Friday - Sunday.  The fee supports the dedicated team and overhead to maintain the adoption center and care for the animals while they are on site. Any profits are donated to the Spokane Humane Society.

Can we adopt one of the animals?

Absolutely! That is why animals are here! We partner with the Spokane Humane Society to be an extension of their great work in the region.

Can we play with the animals?

They would love that! The cats live in a separate cat room where you can hang with them and play with them too. The dogs can be brought out to play with. We have a separate puppy playroom so you can get to know their personalities before you adopt them?

Can we bring our dogs?

The Spokane Regional Health Department does not allow animals inside food and drinking establishments. We can, however, arrange a meet and greet with your dog or cat and one of our adoptable animals to ensure a good fit. Well mannered pups are always welcome on our patio, we even have a pup menu just for them.

What are adoptions fees?

Adoptions are arranged in partnership with the Spokane Humane Society and the fees are in accordance with their process.

What kind of food and beverage does BARK have?

BARK, A Rescue Pub has an elevated pub-style menu with signature burgers, sandwiches, entrees, and appetizers. We want a dining experience that you will come back to time and again. BARK also boasts a full liquor bar with signature cocktails and drinks along with 38 taps of beer, cider, seltzer, wine, and more! Check out our menu linked above.

Can minors and those under 21 visit?

Minors are welcome both in the restaurant and the Adoption Center. Minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times in the Adoption Center for both their safety and the safety of the animals.

Is the adoption center open the same hours as the restaurant?

No. Sometimes the cats and dogs just need time to rest. The Adoption Center is open Friday and Saturday 11am to 6pm and Sunday 9am to 3pm. Reservations are in 20-minute increments and are limited to 12 people per session. Book a visit here.

A partnership with the
Spokane Humane Society

Our partnership with the Spokane Humane Society came from seeing that too often the reason pets go unadopted, is the process. Our goal at Bark is to provide an enjoyable, meaningful experience in an environment that reminds you of home.
